How many people out there are resentful of Suze Orman telling us whether “we can afford it?”

Now, don’t get me wrong. Suze is very well informed and actually has an entertaining and informative show. My problem with Suze, though, is her relentless, judgmental tone about all things financial.
Am I the only one turned off sometimes by Suze’s adamant stances?

I like it when she’s more of a listener and softens her approach, playing down the dramatics.

But then, more often than not, there are situations like this:

Of course, Suze is right. This guy has no business taking most of his savings out to buy a $120K Vette. But didn’t we all know this? Is this call a set-up, allowing Suze to pontificate and dramatize her responses for the great entertainment value of the show?

I guess, in some ways, I can understand Suze’s form of presentation. Personal finance can sometimes be a dry subject. Once entertainment and humor is injected, you can see the improved results. The success of this site, Money Remix, is a prime example. Our offbeat, irreverent and humorous approach to financial topics resonates with readers.

In these extremely difficult economic times, though, I just wish Suze could tone it down a bit, sometimes.

Do you agree?
