The South Florida Interactive Marketing Association (SFIMA) sponsored a great all-day Internet marketing workshop last Friday at Nova Southeastern University in Davie, Florida. I attended, expecting to experience a very Google-centric event, since it was promoted as the GoogleWorld Search Engine Marketing  1-Day Workshop. There was also a lot of general Internet marketing information presented as well, including “organic” search engine optimization (SEO), Pay Per Click (PPC) advertising, social media and more.

The presenters are definitely at the top of their game and very impressive. I learned a lot and especially appreciated the efforts placed into their presentations. Presenters included Jay Berkowitz of Ten Golden Rules, Joe Laratro of Tamden Interactive, Zach Hoffman of SEO.cc and Emily Pelosi of Office Depot.

The evolving nature of Internet marketing is very challenging. Fortunately, organizations like SFIMA offer individuals and companies in the industry the opportunity to stay on top of developments. SFIMA and similar organizations around the country provide an important and very worthwhile contribution to this industry as a whole.
